I think there's so much wishy washy parenting because we have constant access to new information. When I was a kid, there was no internet(🦖!) our parents parented instinctively-for better or worse.

I tell my kids no, but I also explain why. Adults do not give kids credit for how much a child can learn, if you just give them a few minutes of your time. But sometimes I fail to do that too.

Its not just about NO. Its no, because and then being firm. Not every “no” is a punishment. Sometimes its not the right time, unfeasible, or not safe
