As a Recruiter, you had me up until sending the competing offer in writing. If this is an Experienced candidate, the Recruiter should have 🔵

Yeah…never send the offer. I’ve had companies call the offer company behind my back.

Yea I agree with everyone, I wouldn’t do this. I’ve had 3 different hiring managers wanting to contact my boss to delay hire date of a new job. I would never provide info to identify my new employer.

This approach has backfired on me, losing out on the role / company I wanted to work for. Wouldn’t recommend.

I would never from a legal standpoint ever send a potential employer, another employers offer letter

NOPE! Never send an offer to them. if they don't believe you, you don't want to work there.

This just happened to me today. It is significantly lower but I will take it. I emailed the other recruiter

You don’t need to show them the offer. That also shows the competitor and they might lessen the offer

i went through this. both companies moved faster, didn't need to send the offer letter. used it for negotiating the best salary.

Wait so what do you do when you accept the job offer and then have to decline shortly after?

HR Manager here. Tell me if you got an offer. Do not send me the offer or tell me details. If you have another offer, hiring team will move faster if they want you.

I don’t provide new employer, new position, or new boss name. I only provide my new salary if needed. Current boss can easily find the new company and screw you over.

@J.T. O'Donnell I did that once & later found out the recruiter poached the company, started sending them other candidates & I lost out.

if a company sits on your resume for weeks/months is there a polite way of declining them without burning bridges?

NEVER EVER send the offer to a recruiter. Unnecessary and could put you in legal jeopardy with the other company if they find out

can you get back to a job you had before, which you left on your own, but then realized you won't get a better one, or is that not ethic?

I did this to get my 911 dispatcher job. It worked out well for me. I didn’t send them the written offer, just told them of it verbally.
