@hungryartistny: I’ve never had pizza like this before 🍕 This Mexican Pizzeria 🇲🇽 has unique pies like Mole Pizza, Elote Pizza, Chilaquiles Pizza, and more! @Pizza X opened up 4 months ago and has been turning heads ever since for their creative concept! Shout-out to @Picture Perfect Luis & @Righteous Eats for putting me on! Pizzas X (📍30-72 Steinway St, Queens, NY) is located inside an unassuming local Astoria market and has been opened for 4 months. This place is a gem and a true hole-in-the-wall. Xavi Gallito, owner, and Freddy, chef – both have a goal of sharing Mexican cuisine. By adding various Mexican flavors and toppings on a blank canvas (pizza dough), they are offering some really innovative pies. Currently, Pizzas X has around 20 different pies. However, their goal is to eventually perhaps approach 50 different offerings. What I appreciate most about Pizzas X is that they are not afraid to emphasize Mexican ingredients. For example, their Mole Pizza involves a generous base layer of homemade Mole, while their Chilaquiles Pizza includes a foundation of homemade salsa verde (Xavi’s mom’s recipe). Perhaps my favorite was their Elote Pizza. The combination of corn, cheese, and chipotle mayo pays homage to Elote while creating a very delicious pie!
