😭Charity Appeal- Videos and images- As Hope For Zimbabwe Children (HFZC) donates to 26 year old physically challenged Cleopatra Nyaradzo Karamba in Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe. 21/02/24 On 21/02/24 a well wisher pastor Tabwa, known to Sisi Vee through a third party referral , accompanied HFZC team to see a physically challenged and bed ridden woman in Chitungwiza who is in desperate need of help. *Personal Profile* Ms Cleopatra Nyaradzo Karamba is a 26 year old female residing in Zengeza 5, Chitungwiza. She suffers from celebral palsy, a congenital disorder of movement, muscle tone or posture due to abnormal brain development, often before birth. Due to her being bed ridden she has developed deep bed sores on her back and on her buttocks. Speaking to HFZC team in the presence of her father Mr Benjamin Karamba and carer ( Mrs Musumbu) , the jovial Cleopatra said her mother faced a labour delay and had to be operated on when she gave birth to Cleopatra. The midwives had suggested that the baby was too big for normal delivery. Upon birth, Cleopatra did not cry much and did not make movements as expected of a newly born child.This prompted the parents to seek medical attention for the child from various doctors.One doctor diagnosed a tumour in the spinal code. When we arrived , Cleopatra was reading her small Bible, and pastor Tabwa said Cleopatra is a great preacher and has witnessed her preaching to her. *Family Background* Cleopatra stays with her father, Mr Karamba and two older brothers and their families in a small house and she sleeps in a very tiny room which she often shares with a family member.Her mother passed away.Mr Karamba is not employed since 2019. Cleopatra and her father therefore have no reliable bread winner .Unfortunately there is rarely no well wisher to help her except for pastor Tabwa and her husband who often visit her. *Health Challenges* Celebral palsy is a condition that incapacitates movement so Cleopatra requires aid moving from one place to another and rotating during the night. She has developed serious bed sores that cause her a lot of pain and discomfort. Due to her condition Ms Cleopatra uses a lot of diapers, which she cannot afford .She has iron deficiency. *Accommodation* The Karanda family is living under squalid conditions in a house which has not been constructed fully.The place is overcrowded and Ms Cleopatra is confined to a small space with her bed and personal belongings.During rainy season the roof leaks and they use buckets to contain the water. *Assistance needed* Ms Cleopatra' s situation is dire and needs urgent medical attention since she has developed deep bed sores. When HFZC arrived she said she could not afford to pay the small amount charged by the hospital and she had not bought the prescribed medication and had no idea where she would get the money from.The sores need constant and regular cleaning .She also needs physiotherapy sessions to aid her movement. She needs a comfortable wheelchair and decent accommodation. She is in desperate need of basic necessities such as food, clothing, diapers, gloves, medication (pain stops , iron tablets, betadine , G and I and gauze bandages) and cash. Sisi Vee donated cash to Ms Cleopatra and her carer and thanked the unpaid carer for her kindness. After a few days HFZC team visited Ms Cleopatra and sisi Vee donated the medication which she bought from the pharmacy , some painstops , food and other stuff. Cleopatra and her father agreed for HFZC and sisi Vee to source more support for her which include urgent medical care , spacious accommodation, wheelchair, and work (typing) , gloves and food.
