@ottawamilling: Salvaging at its best. Every time I mill, I think of it as opening a gift, you never know what you'll find inside. This was truly a gift! I found this old Manitoba maple (or boxelder) log down the road from my house. A guy had kept it to make a table but never ended up doing anything with it so he needed to get rid of it. I picked it up and decided 4" thick slabs would be best to make table tops with it. it's around 36" wide.
