I personally would clean it off gently with some insecticidal soap or even a mix of rubbing alcohol, water, & dawn disp soap and get off all the white moldly poo from that new growth point.

first, alocasias are great because even after losing all leaves they always pop back up & I can bet there are also corms in there.
