My dad died, he didn’t have a will. My mom had to show a death certificate and marriage license to get the rest of his money out of his bank accounts.

The bank will know in 1-2 days once SS tells them of the passing. Go withdraw ASAP upon death.

1 - 2 years? wtf kind of probate court is your county running? you can take the will to probate court and come back the same day!

Just went through this with my dad. Died in January, didn’t have a will or PoD, and probate wasn’t able to be closed until November 🙃
