Did you know that certain carries with your stretchy wrap can feel more supportive than others? The typical pocket carry/hug hold leaves much more weight directly on your shoulders and doesn't distribute weight quite the same way. Trying out some different carries with your stretchy wrap can give it a little more life. One of the biggest factors with comfort is ensuring that it is tight enough! If it is not tight enough, baby will begin to sag and you are going to feel the weight much more- regardless of the carry you use. This is a modified front wrap cross carry, which is one of the first carries you learn with a woven wrap. With a woven wrap, you do not typically pull those vertical passes out across baby unless you want it to become a carry where baby isn't working their muscles the same way. As you add more support, baby works less- it is often done while baby is sleeping to more actively hold them. But, with a stretchy wrap, you always want 3 passes over your little one and you want to stick to a front or hip carry. A stretchy wrap does not provide the support that a woven wrap does and not having those full 3 passes can lead to a high risk of fall for baby. Let me know if you end up trying this carry, you can set it up like a front wrap cross carry to start and then place baby in as well. If you choose to tie the carrier behind your back before pulling up those second and third passes, ensure you lean back to support your baby or toddler with your body as shown in the video (might be hard to see with the angle.) ✨ Here I am using it with a 13-month-old who is about 20 lb. ✨ Stretchy Wrap- a 4 way stretchy wrap by @belugababy You can find them directly from Beluga baby or through @littlezenone (code LETSTALK for $20 off $100+ for first time users of the code) #stretchywrap #babywearing #babywearingmama
