On October 4th, 2025, what began as a Walmart theft report quickly escalated into a dangerous multi-agency pursuit through Hot Springs, Arkansas. Dispatch notified Trooper Corbin Rideout (Troop K) of a black 2018 Dodge Charger with a fictitious Arkansas plate (764ZML) suspected in the theft and spotted eastbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Expressway. Trooper Rideout positioned his patrol car near Carpenter Dam Road, where he soon spotted the vehicle. When he attempted a traffic stop, the driver initially slowed and activated hazard lights — but then took off at high speed, refusing to stop. The Charger blew through a red light at Malvern Avenue, re-entered the bypass, and began weaving between cars on the shoulder at dangerous speeds. As the suspect exited Highway 70 East (Exit 11A), the Charger lost control, spinning across lanes and striking the guardrail. Trooper Rideout collided with the car’s front passenger side while regaining control of his own unit, disabling the suspect vehicle. The driver then fled on foot into a wooded area, while two passengers remained inside — one with an arm injury.
