Lemme Add to it ; Imo state was named after the “Imo river “ that flows from Okigwe area down to Akwa-Ibom before it connects to the ocean.

gowon divided the east central state in to two Anambra and imo, then Anambra, Enugu, and abakaliki were 1, present day imo, abia,and afikpo were one
