We polished out a MacBook Pro to a mirror finish! #macbook #metalpolishing #metalfinishing #polishedaluminium Check out the skill level and technique of Jacob Larson as he takes the aluminum finish of the MacBook and applies his skill through a series of metal polishing to accomplish a mirror finish . we started by sanding the coating of the laptop with a DA sander. We took successive grits of 180, 320, and 600 grit using our fast cutting savage ceramic sanding discs. Next our double stitched stiff orange airway buffing wheel is paired with our T121 cut metal polishing Tripoli at 3500 RPM to cut out the sanding lines in the first stage of metal finishing. The secondary involved the use of a UBM untreated airway buffing wheel and paired with our Q36 one step cut and color metal polishing compound to both remove the initial cut buff lines as well as make the transition to a near mirror finish to facilitate the final step. Prior to the final polishing process , we used the dissolver compound remover to remove the excess compound on the work piece. The final step of the process involved using our super fine metal finishing compound called competition purple in combination with our new super soft airway buffing wheel (coming soon ). Finally we used the Whiting powder to soak up and remove any excess metal polish .
