@ridingwithcharlotte: Damn this little ‘𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙢𝙮 𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙨𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙖’ idea turned out to be the best thing I ever did at home😆 I’ve been to a fair share of different stables in my time with Voss and at first thought, “hmmm if I pay more money, Voss and I will be happier” . Well, I definitely learn’t that just wasn’t the case. Despite not having an arena or a nice surface to work on at home, it has been the best place for Voss and I. All because we’re very fortunate to have lot’s of fantastic grazing with a well drained field (not on clay), fantastic hacking and based close to my trainers stables with great facilities. These past 9 months delving into my new venture of British Dressage has been the most fun I’ve had with Voss throughout our whole time together. He’s been happier in himself which has made me happier and less stressed. However, I soon struggled with getting my head around all the letters and sizes of circles and movements within the 20x60 space and having 1 lesson a week at my trainers stables just wasn’t enough for me to feel comfortable going out to competitions. This is where my idea of creating my own DIY Dressage arena came into play. I knew I needed to be looking at an arena daily to get my head around the size of the space and the positioning of all the letters. Just a few months on, I can honestly say, this space at home has been a HUGE factor in building my confidence and helping me with my Dressage journey.
