@bee.jeweled.coop: Even on the coldest days, our chickens need care and attention. 🌬️🐓 As a chicken keeper, braving the chill to ensure they’re well-fed and comfortable is all part of the routine. In this cold weather, I make sure to provide scratch grains alongside the chicken’s regular feed. Not only do these grains encourage natural foraging and add dietary variety, but they also help the chickens stay warm by converting the grains into body heat. Got snow? ❄️ In snowy conditions, consider creating a ‘foraging area’ inside their run. You can use hay to simulate the leafy environment they love, scattering scratch grains for them to peck at. If you’re planning to get chicks this spring, keep in mind that chickens need care even in the coldest winter days. A little extra effort in winter means a lot for our chickies. It’s all about keeping them happy and healthy, no matter the weather! If you have questions about keeping chickens, drop them in the comments! I’m here for ya 😎 #backyardchickens #chickenkeeper #dayinthelife #healthychickens #happychickens #chickenkeeping #coldweather #chickencoop
