@marriagefirst: Something that too many people believe is that they have to heal first before they can enter into a relationship. The reality is 1. you’re supposed to heal with the help of your partner in the relationship and 2. you’re supposed to help them heal at the same time. Your wounds are going to bring up their wounds and all of the stuff that lives in both of you that you use to deal with those wounds is going to show up at some point. THAT’S when the healing can happen. Because if your wounds come up and your partner stands along side you and gets curious about those wounds and allows you to experience them authentically, you’ll experience healing that you could never experience on your own. The relationship provides the environment where true healing can happen. So, you have to enter into the relationship having not been fully healed. That’s a scary thing but guess what, you’re partner is in the exact same boat and they’re scared too. You’re two wounded people trying to figure it out.
