Fun fact - putting Interstellar music behind your video doesn’t automatically make what you’re saying accurate😉 And before I explain, I want to say I take a cold shower every morning - and I am not bashing the legitimate uses for cold therapy🧊 I am bashing this guy Ice baths are the new trend And with any new trend, there are going to be people who take the proposed benefits WAY TOO FAR - just to get views or sell a product (usually from someone whose job title is “biohacker”…) But I will try to address the actual argument, not the person here: Using cold therapy has been shown many times in legitimate human trials to improve: - Mood - Cognition - Inflammation  - Skin health - and even speed up the conversion of white to brown-fat Brown-fat (BAT or Brown Adipose Tissue) is what these people like to cling onto Brown-fat is different from white-fat because it’s main job is to produce heat to warm the blood in your body Because brown-fat DOES have a higher resting calorie burn than white fat - this is true BUT - brown-fat only accounts for about 2-3% of the total fat in your body And the added calorie burn is something you couldn’t notice if you tried And the calorie burn you get from the 180 seconds in the actual ice bath - is even less than that So I am all for promoting cold water for what it’s actually good for… But when you tell people that 3-minutes in an ice bath is better than any form of cardio or weight training, and claim it will “strip fat off your body” - you’re just blatantly misleading people When it comes to fat-loss - your diet, training, and lifestyle will determine whether or not you’re making progress.
