@lucys_hillside_house: Photoshoot day! I have been looking forward to this day for months, because it really does take months to plan a photo shoot, even if it doesn’t seem like it would! There are a lot of moving parts and a lot of people involved in a magazine photoshoot so simply finding a date for everyone to get together can take some time. We had the big day yesterday, so I had a photographer and stylist over to work their magic. I was actually hired as the interior stylist so I got everything set up for them so that they could just angle the camera and make sure certain items were in each image. So it was a great day and so much fun and I learnt so much from both of them. It’s not over yet as I have the interview for the actual article next week. The strange thing about working on a project like this is that it took me so long to get the house prepared. You wouldn’t think it would because it is my house and everything has its place anyway (thanks to my amazing home storage ie the ikea hack built-in!) and obviously we keep it clean and tidy as best we can. The thing is that I don’t normally clean and style up the whole house ready for taking photos and video footage - mainly because we actually live here! Normally my home styling is done one room at a time depending on the footage I need. For instance if I’m cooking something for work then I’ll make sure that the kitchen is clean and tidy and styled up nicely before I start filming, but I wouldn’t do all of that to the nursery on the same day if I’m not filming in there. I’ll save that for another day. I also sorted out a small section of the garden that can be seen easily from the windows and doors from our dining room and kitchen. It looked so lovely and thanks to my evergreen shrubs looked very spring like, which is just as well as the issue is for the summer - I can’t wait to see it! #homeinteriordesign #interiorstylist #homedecorideas
