By the letter of the law I think there’s no grounds to call time here but in the spirit of fair play and safety I don’t have a problem with it.

I umpire all youth levels. This happens every other game. I always call time so the catcher doesn’t get earholed or hurt from not looking/ looking at coach

Would have liked to have seen more of the video prior. Ump, points to pitcher to proceed. If batter/pitcher are ready and catcher isn’t. If ump calls time for safety shouldn’t batter get awarded aball

Good time call, Blue. The pitcher needs to learn to have some manners and not pitch when the catcher isn't looking. It's so obvious the pitcher was looking at the catcher like what.

I am a pitcher and sometimes I just pitch and forget to look at the catchers face. But the umpire did the right thing I THINK because this is collage and the pitching is REALLY fast.

I think the catcher was in the wrong because as a catcher I'm always pay attention to my pitcher but I also think that the pitcher should've seen that their catcher wasn't paying attention but I also think that the ump should've said something sooner
