I had a GM that claimed to have given me a raise, but I was already a supervisor, with access to the restaurant email and I saw that the raise was actually automatic across the company. Final straw.

I had a manager that I went to for a pay raise. He said I deserved it and he’d see what he could. He fought for me for 2 weeks and got my salary DOUBLED. Great guy.

I'm sorry but in this case I'd believe my manager, not HR. HR don't communicate with HR they don't know what the hell is going on half the time.
