Janet Helms, a psychologist, developed a model for understanding the stages of white racial identity development. Her model, known as the White Racial Identity Development (WRID) model, outlines six stages through which individuals may progress as they explore and make sense of their racial identity. 📈 It's important to note that not everyone goes through these stages in a linear fashion, and individuals may move back and forth between stages. ⏩⏪ Approach these stages as a framework for understanding the process of white racial identity development. Individuals may progress through these stages at different rates, and some may not experience all the stages.
