I had an INSANE noncompete when I was a home health aide in nursing school. It said I could never treat the patient again in any capacity, even in the hospital as an RN after I graduated. 😂

non-competes by big healthcare systems drain communities of Physicians and give them more power over the practice of medicine!

I refused to sign those for both jobs I’ve had post residency. If you want me then you have to bend, they bent.

I’m currently dealing with this. These companies typically have high turnover rates and use these to make providers stay.

In FL, for MH, it’s rarely enforceable. It goes against clients autonomy to select their provider & have continuity of care.

Actually have known multiple people that have gotten out of non-competes. Many do collapse when challenged.

Have you ever had a lawyer look at what you signed? They don’t hold up in court nearly as often as you’d think.

I had to sign one, but I made sure it was only for the county I currently was working in. The surrounding counties were not included on that. They were not going to hamper my employment.
