Our floors were installed with a 1/4 inch gap throughout. Floors were leveled. We used acclimated Aquaguard laminate flooring(padded). Installed shoe at completion and in some areas it still did this.

I always do a 3/8 gap for laminate flooring plus the floor only expands in heat not cold. But you got the idea!😅

I had laminate vinyl flooring installed 2 years ago. I’ve found 2 cracks in the flooring in 2 different places. They are both going against the grain. Also there seems to be a bump underneath. ???

you need to leave room for expansion around the edge all the way around floor so it can move otherwise floor will buckle
