@meghannmcuniff: Rapper YFN Lucci pleaded guilty to one count of engaging in criminal street gang activity in his 13-count indictment yesterday in Fulton County Superior Court in Atlanta. Lucci told the judge on Tuesday, "My heart goes out to my friend James Adams and his family." Lucci, 32, was charged with murder for the death of James Adams during a gang-related gun battle in Atlanta on Dec. 10, 2020, but the charge was dropped as part of his plea deal, along with 11 other counts. Cuniff, Lucci and others left Adams' body in the street, but Lucci was never actually believed to have been directly responsible for Adams' death: He was driving a Mercedes Benz Maybach gifted to him by his record label and "he didn't have a weapon during the time of this incident," the prosecutor said. Lucci was sentenced to 20 years in prison with 10 years stayed, and prosecutors have said they'll recommend the parole board release him at his earliest chance. That's in three months, but this DOES NOT guarantee he'll be released. The parole board doesn't have to follow prosecutors' recommendation.
