Da settembre 2027 il Paese del Sol Levante farà pagare il costo del servizio di soccorso in elicottero durante la bassa stagione. La tariffa introdotta è una delle varie misure attivate dalla prefettura di Yamanashi per scoraggiare gli alpinisti spericolati e poco preparati. Un importo simile di 8mila yen (circa 45 euro) è già in vigore nella vicina prefettura di Saitama per altre aree montuose. La cifra che vuole applicare la prefettura di Yamanashi per l'elisoccorso al Monte Fuji non è ancora nota, ma secondo la stampa giapponese, la tariffa potrebbe ammontare a circa 9 euro per ogni minuto di volo dell'elicottero coinvolto nell'operazione di assistenza.
