📛 Mi Barrio Pop-Up 📍571 Memorial Drive SE 🕰️ Varying Saturdays 2pm-until 🅿️ Parking Lot 🔗Pre-Order via FB, IG, or email November 16, 2024, marked the end of a chapter for Mi Barrio, a legacy business of 26 years, 21 of those at 571 Memorial Drive SE, across from Oakland Cemetery. Owned and operated by the Lopez family until Martha and Jesus’ retirements, Mi Barrio was known for its intimate, relaxed atmosphere as well as its traditional Mexican dishes, generous portions, and margaritas. At the beginning of this month (February 2025), Mi Barrio’s Facebook page hinted at an upcoming tamale pop-up. Earlier this week, there was confirmation of a February 22 pop-up in the Mi Barrio parking lot. Fearing I wasn’t the only one suffering withdrawals, I sent a pre-order message on Mi Barrio’s Facebook page. It was a smart move because the tamales were sold out at opening. I picked up a half-dozen of tamales at $3 each, three pork, and three tamales de rejas (cash or Zelle only). They were delicious! There was a generous portion of tender, flavorful pork, and the soft masa was perfectly steamed. But I may have enjoyed the tamales de rajas even more (I’m still savoring the roasted poblano peppers). The Lopez family will be back at the parking lot next Saturday from 2pm until they sell out (or complete the pre-orders). There are already pre-orders for March 1, so I would highly recommend pre-ordering. I’m hoping this chapter will continue with many more pop-ups. I miss Mi Barrio! #atlfoodie #atlfood #atlfoodies #atlfoodiestiktok #atlfoodblogger #atlfoodblog #atlfoodbloggers #atlantafood #atlantafoodie #atlantafoodies #atlantafoodblogger #buhifoodie #mibarrio #atlantapopups #atlpopup #atlpopups #atlantapopup #buhitravel #yelpelite #yelpelitesquad #yelpeliteatl #yelpeliteatlanta
