i feel like this should be an obvious one: studio ghibli/miyazaki ?? things like environmentalism, female independence, anti-war pacificism, etc. are all common themes in the films.

I've been seeing a lot more trans representation recently and I love it! I was surprised by macaron in Mashle and theres a nonbinary character in komi can't communicate. let's not forget yuri and yaoi manga not only including gay couples but alsooo trans characters 🥰 living in a homophobic country as a lesbian it gives me hope
