Imagine getting a c-section, getting your babies taken away, and then finding yourself in a homeless shelter. That’s what happened to Missy. She came into the shelter with no babies, but heavily lactating and depressed. These dogs should not exist. Their very existence is cruel because they’ve been bred for looks, not health. For Missy, walking around causes marathon-like distress. She can’t breathe because her nose is short and almost non-functional. She has trouble with her gait and standing because she was bred to be as short and “cute” as possible. I know people think frenchies, bulldogs, and short-nosed dogs are cute. But Missy is an example of the result of this human cruelty - where being attractive or cute to the human eye is more important than breathing normally and walking normally. Did you know that these types of breeds and breed mixes can’t breed OR give birth naturally? That they have to be artificially inseminated and c-sectioned to have a litter of puppies? Missy is now named Ragamuffin, and she was saved because of a partnership between @heartsandbonesrescue and @rainorshinerescue. We will take good care of her and told her that she will never have another litter again. Things are looking up for you, Ms. Muffin ❤️ Follow @whitneysdogs for more foster glow-ups! #dogrescue #shelterovercapacity #helpingshelterdogs #fosteringsaveslives #heartsandbonesrescue #fosterglowup
