All this focus on recruitment, but not retention. Rather than fixing what’s causing people to leave, they’d rather bring on new people

People have feelings about this and that’s ok. I was one of those in the 90’s. Still active duty, finished a bachelors and a masters, obtained a commission. Some ppl just need a chance.

The reason marine corps achieves its goals is because it doesn’t rely on people who want free stuff or benefits, it advertises as the hardest branch. The economy wouldn’t affect it. It’s the title

If someone doesn’t have enough discipline to finish high school or get a GED, how would they have enough discipline to be in the military?

They should immediately require them receive their GED in their 1st year & encourage them to continue a collage ed or a trade school but make it debt free for them.

As long as one can pass the asvab why does it matter what education they have. Seems like primitive thinking kinda, education doesn’t = intelligence

Honestly asking for a 50 on the ASVAB is great. Too many people have been scoring lower and have degrees. Gives everyone a fair shot to have a career.
