@ashallaboutmoney: Replying to @Jennifer Godman Jetm using your credit cards while paying off debt can be confusing! But remember your card balance is only reported ONE time throughout the month. So as long as the balance is low on that date, it doesn’t matter that the utilization goes back up BECAUSE you’ll pay it back down before the card reports the next time! #credit #score #tips #howto #creditcard #debt #card
So then if you don’t keep a $0 after that second one then your credit goes back down…

I think people are missing that you need to have money to pay what you SPEND BACK in the card during the month PLUS extra to pay down on the existing balance.

What if they’re not reporting every month. I paid one of my balances down quite a bit and the last time they reported was over a month ago

I am doing this but not utilizing using the card for payments. I’m terrified that my card limit would be lowered and then I would be SOL in regards to making the payment i needed to

I just opened a new card. Do I want to allow the first statement to have a higher balance so that the second statement I pay it off to help my credit?

is it better to have the balance paid off by the due date, and the utilization at 0%? does that make your credit score go up?

My statement doesn’t give me a statement date. How do I know my statement date? I see due date and opening/closing date.

Credit scores are meaningless. The banks can’t see them, just focus on paying down balances and not worry about the “score”
