Potato cake or potato scallop? Honestly, who cares what you call them – they’re bloody delicious! I made these golden beauties by peeling and slicing up a large potato, soaking the slices in salted water, and then giving them a quick simmer before battering them up and frying them to perfection. Hit them with some chicken salt, and you’ve got yourself a crunchy, fluffy, and irresistible snack. Check out the full recipe below and let me know what you call them where you’re from! 👇 Ingredients: •	1 large potato, peeled and sliced 5mm thick •	Cold water •	Salt •	½ cup self-raising flour •	½ can CBCo Goldy Lager (or your favorite lager) •	Vegetable oil (for frying) •	Chicken salt (or regular salt, to taste) Recipe: 1.	Prep the Potato: Peel the potato and slice it into 5mm thick rounds. Place the slices in a bowl of cold salted water and soak for about 30 minutes. 2.	Cook the Potato: Drain the potato slices and place them in a pot filled with fresh cold water and a pinch of salt. Slowly bring the water to a simmer, and once it’s simmering, remove the potatoes and let them steam dry on a wire rack. 3.	Make the Batter: In a bowl, combine ½ cup of self-raising flour with half a can of CBCo Goldy Lager. Mix until smooth. 4.	Fry the Potatoes: Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 180°C (350°F). Dip each potato slice into the batter, ensuring they are well coated. Carefully drop them into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy. 5.	Season and Serve: Remove the potato cakes from the oil and place them back on the wire rack to drain. Sprinkle with chicken salt while they are still hot. Serve immediately and enjoy! #potatocake #potatoscallop #friedpotatoes #australianfood #SnackTime #crispygoodness #homecooking #Foodie #yummy #comfortfood #simpleanddelicious #recipevideo #cbco #goldylager #cookathome #FoodLover #chickensalt #whatsfordinner
