@ben_yanes: While true “isolation” doesn’t exist, some motions are more specific to certain tissues than others (and this is practical and potentially of great benefit when calculating volume). The rear delts tend to be a difficult group for most to connect with, and IMO it’s because it’s a bit more difficult to be precise about training relatively smaller, single-joint tissues where muscles like the lats often take charge in rows and pull-downs. Reverse flye motions limit lat involvement to a high degree, as do rowing motions done more “across” the body in a wider path, like a pull-apart.
