The ones who invented the things we use every single day without ever getting a statue, a holiday, a museum, or even a footnote in a textbook. Every person in this post changed something, and almost nobody remembers their name. Some lived in tiny villages, some sailed across oceans, and some never left their own front porch. Some of these names are hard to pronounce, and honestly that is part of what makes them special. Languages change, borders move, empires rise and fall, but a legacy stays forever. Random thought: why do grandparents always have a bowl of candy that has been there since 1997? Who invented that? Probably one of these guys. Is a hot dog a sandwich? Is cereal a soup? Why does every group chat have one person who only reacts and never types? Why do we park on driveways and drive on parkways? Why is it called a building if it is already built? Who decided the alphabet goes in that order? Somebody in history made all of these decisions and we just accepted it. Fun facts while you are here: octopuses have three hearts and blue blood.
