@magebymoonlight: If there is one thing I want others to know about my journey as a witch, it’s that my biggest growth has not come through reading books, or even through working with teachers (though both have no doubt influenced and helped me to advance my craft). So, what has helped me grow the most as a witch and work my most powerful magic? Working with spirits directly. Walking in the woods and listening to the trees speak, singing to the full moon, praying to my ancestors, visiting sacred sites, invoking the gods, and above all, crossing the hedge (trance journeying). In my journeys beyond the veil I have undergone initiations, learned the names of familiars and ancestral spirits, received healing and divinatory guidance, and learned highly specific sigils, spells, incantations, and rituals from the spirits I work with. These spells, more than any others, are the ones I continue to use again and again in my practice with the most impactful results. To any witches looking to advance their craft but not sure how to do so, I highly recommend practicing the art of spirit flight (trance journeying or hedge crossing) and building relationships with trusted familiars, ancestors, deities, and other guides. #witchcraft #seidr #norsepagan #paganwitch #hedgewitch
