A lot of "eco-friendly" kids toothbrushes aren't quite as plastic-free as the packaging suggests. The handle might be bamboo. The box might be compostable. The branding might lean fully into sustainability and earthy colors. But check the back of the package, and one detail tends to repeat across almost every brand: nylon bristles. Nylon is a synthetic polymer derived from petroleum. A form of plastic. And the bristles are the part that actually touches little teeth and gums, twice a day, every day. A study published in Environmental Pollution analyzed toothbrush bristles, including those from eco-marketed brands, and found that they can shed microplastic particles during normal brushing. The gums absorb compounds faster than the digestive tract, which is part of why parents are paying closer attention to oral care. Kids also tend to brush harder, chew on the bristles, and use the same brush longer than recommended, which can add to that daily input. A bamboo handle doesn't fully solve the problem when the bristles are still synthetic. The PRIMALS Kids Horse Hair Bristle Toothbrush uses a sustainable bamboo handle paired with 100% real horse bristles, the softest natural bristle available. No nylon. No synthetic polymers. A truly natural brush for little teeth.
This is what €70 a night can get you in Belgrade. This crazy Airbnb is located on the 30th floor of the iconic Genex Tower! And you can book it by searching Belgrade and then locate it on the map, the listing is called "Really the best view of Belgrade - From Genex Tower." You'll have best views at night over the city, and at sunrise over New Belgrade. Totally worth the price. Genex Tower was designed by Mihajlo Mitrović and completed in 1980. Twin brutalist towers connected by a bridge at the top, originally built as a trade center for Yugoslav companies doing business abroad — today one of the most iconic brutalist buildings in the world. The rotating restaurant on the upper connector never quite worked out. What did work out: the view over New Belgrade at sunrise, when the Sava river catches the light and the socialist housing blocks stretch to the horizon like a concrete sea. New Belgrade was built from scratch after WWII — marshland turned into a modernist city planned entirely on paper, one of the largest urban planning projects in socialist Europe. Looking at it from the 30th floor, you feel the scale of that ambition. #genextower #belgrade #brutalistarchitecture #yugoslavianarchitecture #architecturetravel
