Lev has been sick the past couple days with not many answers. He's being treated for tracheitis infection, but he's much more sick than expected. His oxygen saturations have been a lot lower and now not responsive to increased support. He went for a CT scan yesterday after finding something concerning on his echo. What they believe worrisome, pulmonary vein stenosis. On CT, it showed much less worry, they reassured us that the vein overall appears normal but it looked like some narrowing near entrance to the right part of the heart. Lev came back from Ct yesterday looking good. Happy, smiling and happy kicking per usual. But he took a turn last night, oxygen sats in the 50's and 60's. They increased his oxygen to 100%, started nitric oxide and ilaprost and he barely responded. So his team is concerned and recommended he go to the cath lab today. Get a heart catherization to test the pressures in his lungs and heart and possibly balloon the narrowed vein. Lev is very sensitive and doesn't always do well with procedures. They hope he'll be ok but there's always a risk. They went over ecmo and cpr options if it came to it. Hearing those words bring tears to my eyes. I'm scared for him, I'm nervous for results. 🙏🏻Please pray God would protect Lev. 🙏🏻Pray God would guide the hands caring for him currently. The drs and anesthesiologist and nurses. 🙏🏻Pray for him to not have to escalate care, that he would come back to us safe and just the way we sent him, ok. 🙏🏻Pray for results that we can use to achieve progress, For a better understanding on how to help heal Lev. 🙏🏻Pray for our hearts. Our minds. 🙏🏻Justin and I were not expecting to have to let our baby boy go for this procedure today. We were supposed to have more teachings today in order to take Lev home soon. He had a discharge date Feb 13.. but now we're not sure what the plan is. It's been a really long year here at the hospital. We finally had a light at the end of the tunnel, so this feels dark again. 🙏🏻Please God, give us peace.
