@urbanbirddogs: #duet with @Cece #dogmom Why would anyone think that a chew that is as tough as a rock would be good for your dog to consume. We do not give our dogs yak chews unless it’s been turned into a puff first, which is completely edible. Whole, solid yak chews not only SCRAPE THE ENAMEL off your dog’s teeth and can cause their teeth to chip (EVEN IF THEY ARE NOT ROTTING #sideeye) but yak chews have also been known to cause BOWEL OBSTRUCTIONS. Before we knew better, our dog Ruby actually chewed off multiple huge chunks of a yak chew we gave her, causing her to vomit for the next 24 hours trying to get the indigestible pieces out of her stomach. I know that this reaction was caused by the yak chew because her vomit was filled with yak chew chunks. And yall… That was BEST CASE SCENARIO! I’m honestly shocked that we didn’t have to take her in for surgery with how bad it was. Save your dogs teeth, and save your wallet from an expensive surgery.
