I thought it was supposed to sit on your bedframe on the side without the frame mine does then hooks to the otherside of my frame so it can't move

I had ingenuity for my son in ‘18. I remember lifting the pad up to put a rolled up blanket underneath to make it level. I thought maybe I put something together wrong.
