@nathanleeallen: I had a moment just like this around two years ago before my son was born. I was out in Colorado passing through Summit County, so decided to do a quick, favorite hike of mine, Shrine Ridge Pass, while the wildflowers were out and the weather was great. The hike ended up being wonderful, but when I got to the top, I realized it had been over five years since I stood on that ridge and sat, admiring the jagged peaks of the Gore Range, covered in the vibrant colors of summer. In that moment I was hit with so much emotion, I actually burst into tears because I remember the boy that stood on top of that ridge in 2018: Newly married and fresh off a move to a city we didn’t like, broke, in debt, and starting to think about the possibility of going full-time in photography, content, and social media. I was scared but I excited for what the future held. And I stood up there in 2022 as a 30 year-old man, 5 years into marriage and the career of my dreams, financially free and out of debt, with a baby on the way. Crazy. Life changes.
