coke/cola is only a southern thing. The rest of the US generally calls it soda, pop, or says the specific name, like sprite or dr. Pepper etc

in Texas everything is coke. If you say "i want a coke" then you will get a reply of "what kind?" and Dr Pepper is a freq choice lol
