full time cabinet installer chiming in here. that is built correct to countertop installers specs. deal with theses brackets all the time. well built

Completely unnecessary. Standard overhang of countertop is 12 inches. 95% of any granite or quartz material will not require any extra support

since it's not sealed or glued to the floor so that means you can move it to the opposite as well correct you could slide it
