I fully thought they were at Santa Monica until he got to the Empire State Building and i was like “oh so we’re just skipping how they got back across the country?” Then I backed up and saw the house

i think missing the deadline is a setup for SoM, percy gets a prophecy but isn’t allowed to go in the quest bc ppl didn’t like him, but having a more valid reason makes more sense
