@queen_esie: Why I Have Chest Hair? | Self-Love 💗 I was told by my Ivorian aunt that I was hairy because in our family women are very hairy and back in the day body hair on a woman was seen as Beautiful & feminine. Years later, though I didn’t have any symptoms of any type of hormonal issue but I still wanted to make sure and I was finally able to get a family doctor to get my hairiness checked out. Through science, my hairiness was explained! The endocrinologist told me that my hairiness was in fact due to one hormone which was in fact from my genetics and that it wasn’t an issue. And that I shouldn’t have shaved. She told me that if my hairiness was an issue to me I could take a pill that reduces the body hair over time but does not remove it. I chose to not to take any pills for my hairiness because I’ve embraced it and was no longer ashamed of it, it’s part of my ancestors and it’s beautiful! It’s important to get checked by the doctor and if you end up having hormonal issues that cause hairiness you don’t need to be afraid because body hair isn’t scary! To Normalize female body hair is to make every woman feel comfortable in their skin whether it’s genetics or not.
