Earlier this month, she mailed Deontray’s ashes to her sister, who makes customized cremation urns in Connecticut, according to a local report. Lee said she shipped her son’s ashes from her local UPS store and that they were supposed to arrive at her sister’s house by Jan. 10, as reported by WSB-TV. But weeks passed and the ashes never arrived. She contacted UPS’ corporate customer service, who she said sent her a $135 check as compensation for losing the ashes. However, Lee said that she refuses to cash it.
