@the_london_spy: At the D-Day Museum in Southsea, you can confront the obstacles faced by the Allies during the Normandy Invasion, 1944. The various elements that you see are designed to either hang up landing craft or to kill or incapacitate any allied troops landing near the obstacle themselves. Things such as Belgian gates and log ramp posts with proximity mines attached. Belgian gates them were designed to blow up entire transports of troops. Hedgehogs, three large steel, crossed beams, were designed to pierce the bottom of your landing craft and make them easy targets for the German machine gunners on the cliffs above. There was also concertina wire - a roll of barbed wire that stretched the length of the beach. And in many cases, troops would Ou make it as far as the seawall. And if the engineer with their company hadn'ugh made it ashore with the proper explosives, that was where they were stuck. They simply had no way to penetrate through that barbed wire. The conditions were truly horrific. #davidharry #thelondonspy #normandy1944 #dday #hellletloose #savingprivateryan #callofduty #ddaymuseum #tourguide #southsea #barbedwire #ww2history #normandyinvasion

I’m assuming this is Omaha beach or West of Omaha based on the terrain. Do you have models showing the different defenses by beach?
