VA also supports the lungs, obviously if necessary. But would this be able to support the oxygen needs of our patients. From a pediatric ECMO nurse I’m genuinely curious.

My neighbor ended up on bi-pella s/p MVR and then transferred to the facility I work at for transplant w/u. She ended up off both pumps! 🥳

It's not one vs another just depends on the support needed. Just flow or flow, O2 support, and CO2 removal. We all have a role to play 😂.
