I mourn the existence of discount stores. Before thrifting was big, I’d buy everything from them. Especially Marden’s, Big Lots, K-Mart, and 2000’s Tj Maxx + Goodwill.

My mom worked at Ross when I was a teen and it was so fun to see the stuff and find random cool things. Now it’s all the same brands made just for them and it’s no fun to even look.

Worked corporate end of this and you’re correct. We make garbage and pump it ASAP, we stay 1-2 years ahead for production to keep up.
