The Journey of Blockem Popem WoodBots ! Two years ago, I shared a video showcasing the first versions of my WoodBots—handmade figures crafted from recycled skateboards, each with a unique mechanical design and gameplay. I was just starting out, developing these creations from scratch. At that time, I only offered WoodBots made from recycled skateboards, but the process took so long because I didn’t have the right tools to streamline production. With the unwavering support of my community, friends, and family—especially my wife, niece, a few close friends, and my dad—I’ve been able to achieve so much since then. Despite the challenges, your patience and encouragement helped me keep pushing forward. One of my proudest moments was securing a patent pending for my WoodBot creations. However, the journey hasn’t been without setbacks. As the demand for WoodBots grew, I found myself running out of time to finalize the patent. I even had a company step in to help, but it was the last week before the patent expired, and time just wasn’t on my side. After the patent lapsed, they cut contact and left me with no further response. But I’m not giving up. I’ve recently consulted with patent lawyers to explore what it would take to reestablish the patent for WoodBots.
