I think it’s a change in the rating system. They just don’t label anything g anymore. The lion king was rated g when I was a kid. The re-make was pg.

I think it's because of the Hollywood conventional wisdom that youth markets won't want to see a film marketed to someone younger than them.

It's the language of PG vs G, PG "may contain" thus putthing the choice on the parent. TV has more ccatagories and it's per episode at least.
