In SC, with an open area attic w/soffit vents for roof ridge vent flow, along FROG. I was thinking of using foil‑faced polyiso for knee attic walls: cover the batt insulation & studs. The foal is to be able to use this room! It gets up to 100 degrees in the Summer! But as I am writing this, in this situation the barrier would only be in the knee wall attic area, not whole roof...so thinking back to the polyiso....
