Going thru this very thing right now due to a minor oil leak I’ve been battling with. Had I changed the oil pan immediately, I prob wouldn’t be having an engine rebuilt

It’s only the piston or bearing nothing else can cause that especially if the engine is still working now if you turn it over and your vehicle won’t let you start then it’s worse
