@justbk__: Vet school loan transperancy (read more below) 🐶 I got a request for student loan transparency as a new grad in general practice veterinary medicine 🐱 Personally, I took out all federal loans so situations may be different with private loans. Also some people would prefer to pay off loans as fast as possible (10 years or less) which is what most loan repayment services always suggest but there are 20-25 year repayment options with much lower rates 🐾 I also have a few side incomes. I pick up a 5th day at my normal job from time to time but recently have started reliefing at other clinics too. My acupuncture business is very small but that does generate additional income. I also sell notes on Etsy and occasionally get social media deals. If you’re interested more in the relief world definitely follow and check out @annaschozer. Many clinics also do commission-based pay so varying by the company, many people get bonuses monthly-quarterly as well on top of base salaries. ✨ In state grads often have much lower loans but this is pretty average for out of state school students (also why I tell people even though SGU is an island school the tuition and cost of living is still on par with state side OOS costs too) 🐱 Let me know if you have other financial questions or post grad opportunities!
